In Memorium Lynette Fisher – Please Donate….
May 21, 2021 @ 8:00 am - December 31, 2021 @ 5:00 pm
On July 25th of this year American Lab Rescue family suddenly lost one of our own-Loyal dog rescuer Lynette Fisher from Lake Charles, LA passed away. Many of you probably have dogs who came from Lynette – she has been with us from the beginning in 2005 and was very committed to all dogs but she especially liked helping the dogs left behind that no one else wanted. She lived alone and left behind 20+ rescue dogs in her care.
Sadly, the dogs were left alone without water and food for about a week and were only discovered after a welfare check was completed on Lynette. It is a miracle all the dogs survived! After a 2 week stay in Animal control we have done what we know Lynette would want us to do – American Lab Rescue has taken over 10 of the dogs who were in Lynette’s care.
We are still going through the process of this rescue effort and continue to need your help. Of the 10 dogs we saved, 8 are heart worm positive and several are being treated for skin infections. Each dog is getting better and we are posting on our Facebook page and Petfinder for foster homes.
Several ways to help ALR:
- Monetary Donations to help with the high costs of saving Lynette’s dogs (estimate @ $10,000 – roughly $1,000 per dog with medical and boarding expenses)
- Foster homes needed to take dogs as they become healthy to travel (please keep an eye on our Facebook Page)
- Sending food to the boarding kennels in LA – message ALR for address and brand we are feeding dog to keep consistent
- Make a payment at the Vet vs. sending a monetary donation – please contact Courtney at americanlabrescue@yahoo.com and she can provide the Vet’s information.
We are referring to the group of dogs as The Bella Group and they are: Rowan, Sophie, Josie, Charlotte, Harry, Rich, Chip, Emmy, Laddie and Beau!
Lynette lived each day making a difference in the lives of homeless dogs and we continue on with our mission knowing she is with us in Spirit. Thank you to all that have helped so generously so far and for your continued support.
