Transport Services
We need a few licensed drivers who can assist us helping dogs get from point a to point b. Pickup and drive dogs to vet appointments, move dogs from foster homes to adopters, etc.. This is on an as needed basis. Must have a valid drivers license and insurance.
Transporters
Assist at the weekly Saturday CT transport. Meet with adopters, disperse information, Hours are Sat mornings from 9:30 thru noon. Glastonbury & East Hartford line.
American Lab Rescue is always in need of volunteers.
Work from the comfort of your home or help us in the field. Either way your time and effort is greatly appreciated. All positions are non paid. Must be 18 yrs of age or older.
Home Visit Volunteers
Work with the Home Visit Coordinator and Adoption Consultants to visit potential adopters homes to explain the process of adopting a rescue dog. Must have good communication skills. Travel is usually within 30 minutes of your home base.
Volunteer Coordinator
Help attract and work with volunteers. Assign and assist with ongoing projects. Assist Event Coordinator with adoption events, trade shows, etc.
Event Coordinator
Help plan and carry out basic functions associated with adoption events, pet fairs and expos. Identify locations to hold events such as large box pet stores, etc.
Lost Dog Coordinator
Oversee our Lost Dog Program. Communicate with local animal control authorities, media, send emails when a dog is reported missing. Follow up and co-ordinate efforts to find missing dogs.
Home Visit Coordinator
Work via phones and email to in setting up home visits for potential adopters. Experience working with of Excel, Word, E-mail. Good communications and phone skills a must.
Marketing
Review existing marketing and business materials. Assure that information is up to date and dispersed to board members, rescuers, volunteers and adopters
Help Desk
Manage the general info email for ALR. When possible respond to or forward to appropriate parties for handling. Follow up with adopters on how the adoption process and transitions are working with their new rescue dog.
