DESCRIPTION:Hello Everyone\, \nIt’s hard to believe that American Lab Rescue has been saving dogs for 16 years. During that time\, we have placed over 7\,200 dogs with wonderful families. \nIn those 16 years\, we rescued dogs\, we paid our bills and at the end of the day rescued more dogs. \nThis past year it’s been a bit more challenging. \nUp until the beginning of 2020 our operating expenses (Vet\, boarding\, transportation\, pull fees\, etc.) were covered by a combination of collected adoption fees and donations. \nSince that time our expenses have increased well beyond what we collect. \nIn the last year: \n\nBoarding Expenses have increased $23\,000\nTransportation Costs have increased $21\,000\nAnd Vet Expenses are up $43\,000 over 2020 costs\n\nThat’s a total increase of over $87\,000! \nAfter the first 3+ months of this year we are already in the Red. \nTotal Operating Expenses are running $40\,000 higher than the same time in 2020. Total income is down $14\,000. \nWe need to raise funds to help close this growing gap between increasing expenses and falling income. \nWithout raising the necessary funds to keep up with our expenses\, we will have to reduce the number of dogs that we can rescue. \nAs you may know\, we are 100% volunteer staffed. There are no paid employees. 100% of dollars raised go towards expenses. \nWe ask that you help us to continue our Mission – rescue dogs in need and find the Forever Homes they each so richly deserve. SUMMARY:In Memorium Lynette Fisher - Please Donate....
DESCRIPTION:On July 25th of this year American Lab Rescue family suddenly lost one of our own-Loyal dog rescuer Lynette Fisher from Lake Charles\, LA passed away. Many of you probably have dogs who came from Lynette – she has been with us from the beginning in 2005 and was very committed to all dogs but she especially liked helping the dogs left behind that no one else wanted. She lived alone and left behind 20+ rescue dogs in her care. \nSadly\, the dogs were left alone without water and food for about a week and were only discovered after a welfare check was completed on Lynette. It is a miracle all the dogs survived! After a 2 week stay in Animal control we have done what we know Lynette would want us to do – American Lab Rescue has taken over 10 of the dogs who were in Lynette’s care. \nWe are still going through the process of this rescue effort and continue to need your help. Of the 10 dogs we saved\, 8 are heart worm positive and several are being treated for skin infections. Each dog is getting better and we are posting on our Facebook page and Petfinder for foster homes.\nSeveral ways to help ALR: \n\nMonetary Donations to help with the high costs of saving Lynette’s dogs (estimate @ $10\,000 – roughly $1\,000 per dog with medical and boarding expenses)\nFoster homes needed to take dogs as they become healthy to travel (please keep an eye on our Facebook Page)\nSending food to the boarding kennels in LA – message ALR for address and brand we are feeding dog to keep consistent\nMake a payment at the Vet vs. sending a monetary donation – please contact Courtney at
